Other Competitive Exams
A brief, factual overview of the other public-sector commissions and departments Pakistani aspirants compete through, beyond CSS, PMS, PPSC and FPSC.
Beyond CSS, PMS, PPSC, FPSC and one-paper jobs, Pakistani aspirants also compete for posts through several other public-sector commissions and departments. This page gives a brief, factual overview of each so you know where they fit — MOCC's dedicated preparation content currently focuses on CSS, PMS, PPSC, FPSC and one-paper tests, with coverage of these other bodies expanding over time.
Provincial & AJK Public Service Commissions
SPSC (Sindh Public Service Commission) conducts recruitment for provincial civil service posts in Sindh, including the Provincial Management Service and other Sindh government departments.
KPPSC (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission) recruits for provincial civil service and departmental posts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
BPSC (Balochistan Public Service Commission) recruits for provincial civil service and departmental posts in Balochistan.
AJKPSC (Azad Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission) conducts recruitment for civil service and departmental posts within Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Preparation for all four largely overlaps with PPSC-style tests: general knowledge, current affairs, English, and a subject-specific or general-ability paper depending on the post. Our General Knowledge, Everyday Science, Past Papers and MCQs content is directly relevant.
Federal Recruitment & Investigation Bodies
FIA (Federal Investigation Agency) periodically recruits for posts such as Sub-Inspector, Assistant Director and support staff through competitive tests, typically covering general knowledge, English, analytical reasoning and current affairs.
FBR (Federal Board of Revenue) recruits for tax-related and administrative posts (such as Inspector Inland Revenue or Customs) through tests that combine general ability with subject knowledge relevant to taxation and trade.
NCCIA (National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency) is the body now responsible for cybercrime investigation in Pakistan, having taken over this function from FIA's former Cyber Crime Wing. It recruits for investigative and technical posts as vacancies arise.
Lecturer & Subject Specialist Posts
Lecturer and Subject Specialist positions are typically advertised by provincial public service commissions (PPSC, SPSC, KPPSC, BPSC) or education departments, and are usually tested through a one-paper, subject-specific MCQ format. See our One Paper Jobs page for general guidance on this test format.
