Tehsildar Jobs Punjab 2026–2027: Seats & Preparation

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) conducts recruitment exams and interviews for a wide range of provincial government posts in Punjab — from management-cadre positions to subject specialists, lecturers and other technical roles. PPSC syllabi and test patterns vary by post, so preparation needs to be tailored to the specific advertisement.

How PPSC Recruitment Works

PPSC advertises posts in numbered advertisements, and each post carries its own eligibility conditions: qualification, age limit, domicile and test pattern. For many one-paper posts the first stage is a single objective test, for example a 100-mark MCQ paper, while specialist and lecturer posts may add a subject test and an interview. Because conditions differ from post to post, the first job of every aspirant is to read the exact advertisement before reading a single page of notes.

What to Study

Most PPSC objective tests combine a general portion with a post-specific portion. The general portion commonly draws on Pakistan affairs, Islamiat, current affairs, general knowledge, English and everyday science, and some posts add basic mathematics or computer knowledge. Provincial posts may also reward familiarity with Punjab’s administrative structure, geography and history. Always match this list against the syllabus printed in your advertisement, since it is the only list that counts.

A Practical Study Plan

  • Week 1: read the advertisement, list the syllabus topics and mark your weak areas.
  • Weeks 2 to 5: study one subject block at a time, then solve topic-wise MCQs the same day.
  • Weeks 6 to 7: attempt full timed papers and review every wrong answer.
  • Final week: revise short notes and current affairs, and avoid starting new books.

How to Prepare for a PPSC Objective Test

Many PPSC posts use a time-limited objective paper, but the exact subjects, number of questions, duration and marking differ by post, so read the advertisement and any notice on the commission’s official website before you commit to a plan. MOCC does not state a PPSC marking scheme for any post unless the commission has published it.

Step 1 – map the paper. Write down which subjects your post lists and whether there is a specialist section. Weigh your hours by what is actually tested, not by what you enjoy. Step 2 – build the common core. Most candidates need English, General Knowledge, Pakistan Affairs, Islamiat, everyday science and current affairs. Step 3 – learn Punjab as a topic. Provincial administration, divisions and districts, rivers and canals, major institutions and development projects can be tested, so keep a short set of notes in your own words. Step 4 – practise under the clock. Do topic-wise MCQs first, then full timed sets from the MCQ Centre and the Test Series. Step 5 – review errors. Keep an error log and revise it before every new set; most score gains come from recurring mistakes, not from new topics.

Using Your Time Before an Advertisement Appears

Waiting for an advertisement is the most common reason people start late. A sensible approach is to prepare the common core now and finalise the specialist section when the notice is published. Track current openings on Latest Jobs, read the Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar page for an example of an expected, not yet advertised recruitment, and check eligibility with the Age & Eligibility Calculator. Start with the free notes and the One Paper Hub.

Mistakes to Avoid

Common errors include studying the wrong syllabus, memorising MCQs without understanding the concept, ignoring current affairs until the last week, and skipping timed practice. Check the advertisement for negative marking and the exact marking scheme before you decide how aggressively to guess.

Use these alongside the official advertisement: the free one-paper notes, the MCQ Centre, the Digital Library, Current Affairs, the Age & Eligibility Calculator and the Test Series. New vacancies are listed on Latest Jobs with their official closing dates.

MOCC is an independent private academy. It is not part of any public service commission, and no academy can guarantee selection. The official advertisement is always the final authority on eligibility, syllabus, fee and deadline.

How MOCC Supports PPSC Aspirants

MOCC provides preparation guidance, notes and past-paper practice for PPSC posts, along with coverage of general knowledge, Pakistan affairs, current affairs and everyday science topics that recur across PPSC tests.
