What MOCC's Duolingo English Test Preparation Covers
The Duolingo English Test is a single, adaptive online test that produces an overall score plus four subscores — Literacy, Conversation, Comprehension and Production. MOCC's preparation is organised around building these skills:
Reading and writing tasks that test vocabulary, grammar and sentence-level accuracy.
Speaking and listening practice for interactive, conversational-style test items.
Listening and reading comprehension practice across mixed, adaptive question types.
Spoken and written production tasks, including open-response items.
Duolingo English Test Scoring at a Glance
The Duolingo English Test produces an overall score on a 10–160 scale, along with four integrated subscores. Duolingo also reports individual Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening subscores, and the overall score is the average of those four individual subscores, rounded to the nearest 5. The test is computer adaptive, so item difficulty adjusts to your performance. These are general facts about the test as published by Duolingo (checked 21 October 2026), not a MOCC score guarantee; Duolingo may update the test, so confirm details on the official site.
Which English Test Should You Take: Duolingo, IELTS, PTE or TOEFL?
Different universities, employers and immigration authorities accept different English-proficiency tests — and not every institution accepts every test. Before choosing, check the specific English-test requirement listed by the institution or programme you are applying to. MOCC offers preparation support across the Duolingo English Test, IELTS, PTE Academic and TOEFL, so once you know which test you need, MOCC can help you prepare for it.
