General Knowledge Preparation Guide

New: MOCC Daily 50. Top 50 current-affairs facts from the previous day, with sources, a PDF and a free 25-question test. Open the latest edition →

General Knowledge carries weight in one-paper screening tests and in the preliminary stages of several commissions. MOCC's one-paper material covers General Knowledge, Current Affairs, English, Everyday Science, Computer, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Pakistan Affairs and Islamic Studies. This page collects the General Knowledge resources currently published on this site.

The best preparation is regular, timed practice with review of mistakes, not one-time reading.

A sensible study sequence

  1. Check the syllabus or advertisement for your test and list the subjects it includes.
  2. Work through one subject at a time with MCQs and note every question you answered wrongly or guessed.
  3. Use one-liners for quick daily revision, and keep a separate sheet for dates, names and figures you tend to forget.
  4. Add current affairs for the last several months before the test.
  5. Take full-length timed mocks and review them before attempting another.
What is not yet on the public site: Everyday Science chapter notes, Islamic Studies notes, reasoning and quantitative practice sets, and a past-papers archive are not yet available as public pages. Ask the team what exists for your exam.

Common questions

What is the difference between General Knowledge and current affairs?

General Knowledge is relatively stable (history, geography, science, institutions). Current affairs covers recent events and changes quickly.

How many MCQs should I practise?

There is no single correct number. Focus on understanding why each option is right or wrong and on steady daily practice.

Does MOCC guarantee selection?

No. MOCC does not guarantee selection or results.

How to revise General Knowledge so it sticks

Read a topic once, close the page and write down what you remember, then check your notes. Revisit the same topic after one day, one week and one month. Finish every session with a few questions from the MCQ Centre and keep a short list of the facts you keep getting wrong. A little daily revision works better than one long weekly session.

Pair this guide with the Current Affairs Centre for recent events. The same foundation also helps if you are preparing early for the expected Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar recruitment in Punjab, where the official advertisement is still awaited.
